Practice: Building a market map and simulation “Would you invest or not?” Hands-on exercise to map potential investments and practice decision-making based on real startup scenarios.

2. What is a Startup and How Does It Operate? Content: Scalable models, disruption, accelerated growth, the role capital. Explore why startups grow exponentially and how capital accelerates that growth within dynamic, competitive environments.

Practice: Build your own startup. Apply concepts by creating your own startup model, understanding challenges and key success factors from the inside.

3. Startup Evaluation – Due Diligence and Valuation. Content: Fundamentals of due diligence and early-stage valuation. Learn how investors evaluate startups, identifying risks, potential, and defining fair valuations in uncertain early stages.

Practice: Analysis of a real startup (pre-revenue edtech case). Analyze a real-life startup using authentic data to simulate an early-stage investment evaluation process .

3. How to Invest: Direct vs. Private Equity Funds. Content: Direct investing vs. funds, filters, fee structures, exits. Compare control, risk, and returns between direct startup investments and fund-based strategies.

Practice: Simulation of investing in startups + investment fund. Make investment decisions in a simulation balancing direct deals and fund investments.

4. Strategic Networks and Reputation Building. Content: How to build reputation and influence in the ecosystem, role of networking and co-investment. Explore how strategic relationships and reputation drive access to top deals and co-investment opportunities.

Practice: Strategic network building and pitch at Demo Day. Expand your investor network and pitch your investment thesis during the program’s Demo Day.

1. Investment Terms and Agreements. Content: Key terms in agreements, term sheets, valuation, preferred rights. Learn to interpret term sheets, key clauses, and investor protections that define deal structures.

Practice: Investment contract negotiation. Simulate a negotiation to secure favorable terms while balancing startup and investor interests.

2. Portfolio management for family offices. Content: Navigating portfolio construction, investment committees, and reporting. Understand how to build, monitor, and report on a balanced portfolio within a family office context.

Practice: Portfolio management simulation. Manage a simulated portfolio, making decisions on allocation, follow-ons, and reporting strategies.

3. Acquisition as an Investment Tool (Part 1). Content: Role of acquisitions to scale, simple valuation, investment thesis, integration. Explore how acquisitions drive growth, from identifying targets to valuing and integrating them.

Practice: Investment teams simulate an acquisition and integration plan. Work in teams to plan an acquisition strategy and simulate the integration process post-deal.

1. Acquisition as an Investment Tool (Part 2). Content: Role of acquisitions to scale, simple valuation, investment thesis, integration. Deepen your understanding of acquisitions as a strategy for growth, value creation, and market entry.

Practice: Investment teams simulate an acquisition and integration plan. Teams refine their acquisition strategies and simulate post-merger integration in real-world scenarios.

2. Private Equity funds’ structuring. Content: Structuring a PE fund, common strategies, structuring and raising a fund. Learn how PE funds are structured, managed, and raised, including governance and investment strategies.

Practice: Private equity fund creation exercise. Design and simulate the creation of your own PE fund, defining structure, fees, and investor pitch.

3. Demo Day & Final Evaluation. Content: Networking space between participants, professors, and real ecosystem stakeholders. Build relationships with investors, founders, and industry leaders in a collaborative closing event.

Practice: Case presentations, feedback from mentors and invited investors. Present your investment thesis to experienced investors and receive actionable feedback.
